30. The Reach: Glass Print
“The Reach” embodies the adventure of reaching for something when the outcome is intimidating or uncertain. It is a charcoal still life, of a hand reaching up through a pillar with a rope wrapped around it, and bull horns emerging out of the vase. The background is made up of a fine metal plate and a black curtain that is draped behind the plate. "The Reach” looks best when it is displayed with its sister still life “The Knot.” Together, these artworks strike this visual balance of certainty, through the ties people build in their lives, as seen in “The Knot”, and uncertainty when it's time to take a risk, as seen in “The Reach”.
The unique, reflective glass print of "The Reach" catches light with elegance. It offers brilliant depth and the traditional shine associated with framed artworks. The lightweight and minimal mounting allows the print to stand slightly off the wall and lends an additional layer of strength. No framing is needed with this contemporary style of displaying artwork!
